We are calling all thinkers and doers from the profession and society to build something better together.
What do you think the new horizons for accountancy are?
The 2014 World Congress of Accountants is about building the future. We have been invited to share our thinking and ideas and to engage the global profession in a discussion about the new horizons for the profession. We are bringing new perspectives to this world forum and we have invited leading panelists from a variety of disciplines to further inspire our thinking.
Good ideas are not born in a vacuum – we are asking you to share your expertise and thinking so collectively we shape the future of the profession for the years to come. We are asking our community and the Congress delegates to send us their ideas via email or twitter, using #NewHorizon. Many ideas have been submitted already – from building new networks and empowering new stakeholders to creating new experiences and services for clients. These will be discussed during the events next week and will later be shared on our website.
Our goal is to use these ideas to identify new opportunities and prototype new solutions for the challenges our society is facing. In January, we will be hosting an intensive two-day innovation event as part of our Open Design Studio. This design-led initiative will be an incubator for new thinking and radical innovations to bring together talent from a range of accounting firms and professional organisations. I will be in touch later next week with more details for this event as I hope you can join us and invite others from your own organisation.
We would like you to come and take part in designing the shape of our profession for years to come. With AuditFutures we explore the opportunities for accountancy and how we all can be part of the answer to the challenges our societies and economies are facing.
