1 December 2015:
Design-thinking Workshop

We invite you to take part in an innovative and practical workshop on designing assurance engagements and services for a wide range of clients and sectors. This half-day event will bring together assurance practitioners with business owners, entrepreneurs, investors, CFOs and NEDs to explore new and emerging areas where assurance can build trust.

This workshop is part of the review and update of ICAEW’s Assurance Sourcebook and aims to develop practical means for businesses to access the value of assurance, to help practitioners to provide assurance and to make others aware of the social benefits of assurance. We will look at topics of assurance where businesses and practitioners could benefit from further guidance and advice, including areas which are likely to arise due to regulatory or statutory demand. The session will consider conceptual and practical issues surrounding assurance engagements and will promote dialogue between practitioners and assurance stakeholders.

The event is part of the Open Design Studio initiative of AuditFutures and will build on the proven process and methodology of design-thinking and service-design to prototype ideas, to broaden stakeholder engagement and to produce compelling and practical outputs. It will provide an opportunity for practitioners to learn new collaborative and innovative tools. We believe that design thinking can help the modern accounting practice in understanding issues and in creating solutions, in collaboration with communities, businesses and wider society
